Edwin Morales filmed some great footage of Hurricane Carlotta when she hit Puerto Friday night at a Category 2 Hurricane during the night and then went out the next day to film the aftermath. Excellent job by Edwin Morales getting this footage out to the rest of the world so we can start doing a Red Cross relief campaign to help the people of Puerto recover their losses and rebuild Puerto.

Here is a direct link to his written report on Hurricane Carlotta from his blog at wordpress.com and the video posted below is his live footage of Carlotta hitting Puerto Friday night and the destruction of her aftermath on Saturday.

The Red Cross in Puerto Escondido is asking for donations of various foods for families affected by Hurricane Carlotta. Donations can be made at the Red Cross on 7a Norte or at the office of El Sol de la Costa, 3a Poniente, #204, at the corner of 1a Sur.

Among the items needed are water, canned tuna, beans, rice, sugar, salt and sopa de pasta.

Many parts of the city, as well as Chila, remain without power. There have been many reports of homes whose roofs of lamina were lost during the heavy winds Friday. The hurricane registered steady winds of up to 180 km/h.

This is the latest video filmed and produced by Edwin Morales today featuring Celestino Rodriguez of Puerto's Lifeguard Service in the opening asking for help from anybody in the international surfing community who wants to help the Puerto Lifeguards rebuild the lifeguard watch towers that got destroyed by Hurricane Carlotta last week. Please help the lifeguards rebuild the lifeguard watch towers on Zicatela Beach so they can re-establish the lifeguard service on Playa Zicatela to ensure the safety of Zicatela beach.

ALL 8 TOWERS ON ZICATELA BEACH WERE DESTROYED BY HURRICANE CARLOTTA AND NEED TO BE REBUILT QUICKLY TO ENSURE THE SAFTEY OF THE SURFERS

I am starting a fundraising campaign on facebook for Puerto's Lifeguard Service who lost all 8 of their lifeguard towers in Hurricane Carlotta and they need donations to help them rebuild the lifeguard towers quickly to keep the Puerto surfers safe while surfing Zicatela.
